YAVHENI DE LEÓN

Guatemala City. 1990 | instagram

Visual artist and graphic designer, he manages two lines of work: one in the inquiry of the processes linked to aspiration, and the second within the family memory and tradition. His process focuses on the relationship between form, context and time, identifying standardized situations from his personal history to place them in collective readings. Aspiration is the filter through which he articulates themes such as urbanity, institutional critique of art, masculinity and fitness, family memory and cultural identity.

He has participated in several exhibitions and residencies in Central America, such as the Paiz Art Biennial, Guatemala (2023 and 2014), Espacio/C arte+memoria, Chichicastenango, Guatemala (2023), Espira la espora, Nicaragua (2013).
