ALEJANDRO MEDINA

Guatemala City. 1995 | website

Alejandro Medina is an artist from Guatemala working across architecture, sculpture, photography and drawing. Currently based in Los Angeles, California.

Medina’s work explores the entangled relationships between humans and nature, particularly through the lens of the architecture and technologies that we build and use; reflecting critically upon our exploitation and manipulation of living systems, non-human beings and the biosphere at large. Medina’s research and work draws largely from his studies of complex systems, cybernetics, geometry, ecology and computation.

Medina holds a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science (MS) in Art, Culture & Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
