ANA WERREN

GUATEMALA CITY, 1986.

Ana Werren has participated in numerous exhibitions in and out of the country, the most recent being a solo show at Galería Extra “Las paredes que me vieron crecer” (2024). She has a diploma in Advanced Studies in Photography and Management of Photographic Projects from La Fototeca and the University of San Carlos de Guatemala (2012). Consequently, she concluded the specialization program in artistic photography “New Generation” at La Fototeca (2014).

For two consecutive years he participated in the International Photography Festival in Pinyao, China (2013 and 2014), as well as in the initiative “Guests of the Present” which culminated in a group exhibition in Madrid, Spain (2013). Her work has been included in the publication Prisma, of which a group exhibition was held for the Guatephoto International Photography Festival (2015). She has presented her work in the Latin American Art Auction Juannio in three editions (2017, 2018, 2022).

Her first solo show “Corpóreo, Extendible” was exhibited at Galería Extra, Guatemala (2018), a project that was also a finalist for the Luis González Palma Award at the Guatephoto International Photography Festival, Guatemala (2018) and was part of the Head On International Photography Festival in Sydney, Australia (2019). She was selected for a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design in Costa Rica with the show “Tensión” (2020).
