LIVES AND WORKS IN GUATEMALA.

Multidisciplinary artist and art professor, born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (1976). He lives and works in Guatemala.

His practice brings together visual, sonic, and performative languages to explore the relationships between body, territory, and memory, understanding landscape as an active site where historical and political tensions are inscribed.

He studied at the Altos de Chavón School of Design (1999–2001). His work has been presented internationally, including at the 54th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale (IILA Pavilion), the University of Essex in London with the pro-ject KARMADAVIS: Art, Justice and Transition, and the 4 Chemins performance festival in Port-au-Prince. More recently, he has participated in the 3rd Gran Bienal Tropical and the 31st Bienal de Artes Visuales (2025), as well as in exhibitions in Guatemala.

He has received multiple recognitions, including “La Piña de Oro” at the 3rd Gran Bienal Tropical, First Prize at Juannio (Guatemala, 2016), and the Editorial Award at the 27th Eduardo León Jiménez Biennial. His work has also been supported by institutions such as the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection and the Franklin Furnace Fund in New York.

His practice has been discussed in academic and critical publications that exami-ne notions of border, identity, and displacement in the Caribbean and Central America. Through a sensory approach, his work proposes forms of knowledge that exceed the visual, activating the senses as vehicles for communication and experience.
