Fredy Rangel in Figuraciones en el Pacífico
History has been written in polished stone, in centers of power, in monuments that defy the centuries. But what happens to fleeting gestures, to the traces the wind erases? To make a historiography of the ephemeral—of laboring bodies, of the cardboard that shelters someone sleeping on the street, of everyday desire—is a political act.
Fredy Rangel, together with Misael Rodríguez, Roberto Escobar, and Gustavo Madrid, presents Figuraciones en el Pacífico: Miradas Urbanas, an exhibition that immerses itself in the peripheries, where the transient becomes testimony and memory is written with precarious materials.
Figuraciones en el Pacífico is open at the Museo Regional de Arqueología La Democracia Rubén Chevez Van Dorne from June 14 to August 30, 2025.
